The CC house is located on a sloping terrain, which has  a double access. This condition allowed us to use the privileged position to organize the house in a composition of two volumes that overlap each other. The lower volume contains the public program of the house, while the upper volume contains a private access from the garage that leads directly to the bedrooms.Save this picture!© Cristobal Palma / Estudio PalmaSave this picture!Ground floor planSave this picture!© Cristobal Palma / Estudio PalmaSave this picture!© Cristobal Palma / Estudio PalmaThe lower floor is organized under the concept of an open plan and integrates all the social spaces of the house, maintaining a fluid communication. Despite the house rises and is separated from the ground, an explicit communication is established between the interior and the exterior of the house. Each space opens its views towards the garden, allowing a direct visual communication between the interior and the exterior.Save this picture!© Cristobal Palma / Estudio PalmaThe orientation of the house responds to sun exposure. The sides become blind walls as protection from the sun and define the volumes of the house. • Court orders Judge Woodard to be publicly reprimanded

first_imgCourt orders Judge Woodard to be publicly reprimanded February 1, 2006 Regular News Court orders Judge Woodard to be publicly reprimandedcenter_img The Supreme Court has ordered Charlotte County Judge W. Wayne Woodard be publicly reprimanded for improperly trying to discourage an opponent from running against him, providing false information in his campaign literature, and repeatedly exhibiting rudeness and impatience with those appearing before him.In its January 5 ruling, the court also ordered Judge Woodard to complete “suitable anger management counseling.”Judge Woodard fully admitted engaging in the improper behavior and entered into a stipulated agreement with the Judicial Qualifications Commission. The seven violations of the judicial canons include:• In 2004, Woodard made an improper effort to discourage an opponent from running against him.• Woodard was frequently late in beginning scheduled first appearance hearings.• He left an arraignment to conduct a radio campaign interview.• Woodard once began his small claims docket at 8:50 a.m., when it was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and insisted that an attorney commence her case in the absence of her opponent, stating, “The docket starts when I say it starts.”• Woodard incorrectly asserted in campaign literature the number of jury trials over which he presided.• Despite the fact that following the hurricanes in the summer of 2004 the trial schedule was in disarray, when an expert witness in a small claims case pending before him failed to appear, Woodard issued a bench warrant for the witness with a $100,000 bond. This resulted in that person being incarcerated for seven hours before Woodard released him on his own recognizance.• Repeatedly exhibited rudeness and impatience with counsel, witnesses, and parties appearing before him.“[W]e determine that Judge Woodard’s misconduct is unbecoming to a member of the judiciary and undermines the integrity of the judicial system,” the court said. “Accordingly, we approve the recommended sanction of a public reprimand and completion of ‘suitable anger management counseling.’”Judge Woodard was directed to appear before the court for the administration of the public reprimand at 8:30 a.m. on February 10.last_img read more

  • Wasteful KCCA narrowly defeat Township Tollers in Champions League

first_imgStriker Patrick Kaddu was on target as kCCA defeated Township Rollers on Saturdy afternoon (file photo)Caf Champions LeagueKCCA FC 1-0 Township Rollers Mandela National Stadium, NamnooleSaturday, 18-08-2018Namboole – KCCA FC defeated Botswana side Township Rollers 1-0 to move third in the Caf Champions League group A.In a not so tasty game played at the Mandela National Stadium on Saturday, it was striker Patrick Kaddu who grabbed the headlines with a close range shot that found the back side of the net with eight minutes to play. The result takes KCCA to six points, four behind second placed Esperance who lost to leaders Al Ahly on Friday. For Township Rollers, they are now at the foot of the group with three points from five games. How the action unfolded:The game started slowly as both sides could not penetrate into the final third until the 7th minute when Edwin Maolosi lashed onto a defence splitting pass by Kago Monyake but his low shot was turned out for a corner by KCCA custodian Tom Ikara.KCCA FC’s first sight of goal came three minutes later when Patrick Kaddu’s speculative effort from 23 yards flow over the cross bar.At the other end, Mosha Gaolaowe threaded a throw ball for Sikele Motsholetshi whose resulting low shot was turned out for a corner by Ikara. On 17 minutes, it was KCCA’s turn to put the visitors under pressure. Dikago Wagarre in the Rollers goal kicked straight at Muzamir Mutyaba who teed up Saddam Juma for a shot but it rattled the up-right on its way out for a goal-kick.Gambian referee Gassama Bakary flashed the first and only yellow card of the game on 22 minutes when defender Ncenga Obuile handled the ball outside the area while on the ground to prevent KCCA midfielder Allan Okello running through on goal.KCCA took over the initiative and on 33 minutes, Julius Poloto crossed into the area but Kaddu could only direct his header onto the bar with Dikago beaten.Nine minutes to half-time, Kaddu robbed Ncenga of the ball and played Okello through on goal but his weak header was punched away by Dikago to ensure that the half ends in a stalemate. Both teams made two quick substitutions at the start of the second half with Isaac Kirabira coming on for Jackson Nunda for the home team while Galabwe Moyana replaced Kago Monyake for the away side. The chances where scarce at the start I the second half and it was the visitors who created the first opportunity with Boy sending in a teasing cross but Ikara punched it out for safety.Rollers’ best chances of the half came on 54 minutes when Boy crossed in low but Mosha’s close range shot was blocked by the onrushing Ikara. Two minutes later, Saddam sent a long ball over the Rollers’ back-line and it found Kaddu who could not direct his over-head kick goal wards. With 19 minutes to play, KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi brought on Gift Ali to replace the below-per Muzamir Mutyaba.Chances started flowing for KCCA and on 79 minutes, Kizza sent in a low cross but Poloto failed to tap the ball into the net from five yards. With the game headed for a stalemate, Ali was fouled on the right and Saddam sent in a teasing cross which was not dealt with by the Rollers’ defence and after a goal mouth scramble, Kaddu fired in from close range to make it 1-0 to the home side. The goal was Kaddu’s first on the continent.KCCA FC had a chance to make it 2-0 with two minutes to play but Poloto blazed the ball over with only the keeper to beat.KCCA’s last group fixture will be away to Al Ahly while Township Rollers host Esperance.Comments Tags: caf chamipons leagueKCCA FCpatrick kaddutoptownship rollerslast_img read more

first_imgTexas A&M's Danuel House.Much to the chagrin of most fans, Texas and Texas A&M have not played each other in either football or men’s basketball since the Aggies left the Big 12 for the SEC back in 2012. But at least one members of A&M’s hoops team wants that to change in 2015. Junior guard Danuel House, who has one year of collegiate eligibility remaining, wants a shot at the Longhorns this upcoming season. He took to Twitter with his request Sunday morning, and even quoted a phrase from Texas A&M’s Aggie War Hymn about “sawing” varsity’s (Texas’) horns off.I want to play against UT this coming season. #Sawvarsityhornsoff #12thman #Gig3m #GBOD— Danuel23House (@Danuel23House) March 29, 2015It’s unlikely that the two schools find a way to make this happen voluntarily.
