  • DDTV: Students use mannequin challenge to communicate very important message…

first_imgTransition Year students at Rosses Community School in Dungloe have completed the mannequin challenge; with a twist. The Young Social Innovators group, called Anti-Bullying Community, have used the template of the mannequin challenge to communicate a strong Anti-Bullying message.Young Social Innovators is a national competition whereby young people are inspired to stand up and tackle a social issue, in turn creating a fairer and more caring society. Different types of bullying are highlighted throughout, such as verbal, physical, emotional, and cyber bullying, alongside social exclusion. The end of the video shows two pupils in the principal’s office speaking out about bullying, and throughout the video students can be seen supporting each other.A spokesperson for the group say; “We encourage any student in the RCS to stand up and speak out if they witness bullying. We encourage all students to talk to someone if they feel that they are being bullied. We encourage all students to be fearless and be kind. It isn’t always easy to do the right thing. We encourage all students and staff to bring EMPATHY back into everyday life.We encourage all students and staff to tell someone everyday something positive about themselves. We encourage all students and staff to do an act of kindness everyday. If we all did these things, there would be no room for negativity! Lets stamp out bullying once and for all.”  To keep up to date with them you can find them on Facebook. DDTV: Students use mannequin challenge to communicate very important message… was last modified: December 4th, 2016 by Elaine McCalligShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:anti-bullyingrosses community schoolSCHOOLysilast_img read more
