  • Jack Grealish WILL join Spurs before transfer deadline, says Tim Sherwood

    first_img 1 Tim Sherwood believes Jack Grealish WILL be a Tottenham player before Thursday’s transfer deadline.Aston Villa have rejected several bids from the Premier League side but it is claimed Spurs have tabled another offer worth £30million for the 22-year-old.The Championship outfit are determined to keep the midfielder at Villa Park, though, and it believed they will offer Grealish a new and improved contract to keep him out of Tottenham’s clutches.But, with the player said to be keen to join the Champions League-competing club, Sherwood believes the deal will be done.“I still think it will get done, there’s a will on both sides,” the former Tottenham and Aston Villa manager said on Thursday’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.“Jack obviously wants to go now, he’s got an opportunity to go to a club in the Champions League and I honestly believe it will get done.“I don’t think it will look good on the new owners of Aston Villa to sell their prize asset, but I think it was too far down the line before they arrived at the club.“I think they might have to just let everyone get what they want.“Unfortunately for Villa and their fans, they are a massive club in their own right and they don’t want to lose Jack Grealish who is such a good player for them.” Tim Sherwood hailed Jack Grealish’s ability throughout his time as Aston Villa manager center_img Sherwood also believes Tottenham would be the perfect club for Grealish to take his career to the next level, saying he would thrive in north London under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino.Asked if the 22-year-old – who he coached during his spell in charge of the Villans – is good enough for Spurs, the former boss said: “He is, I believe that.“I always think players look better when they are around better players, world class players.“For example, Harry Kane wouldn’t look the player he is now if he was at Aston Villa.“I think if you put Jack Grealish in and around the top class players Tottenham have, with the way they play and the great manager they have, I just think he would come on leaps and bounds and the next stage for him would be in an England shirt.”Listen back to Tim Sherwood on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast IN FULL abovelast_img read more
