McGraw was not accurately portrayed

first_imgCategories: Letters to the Editor, Opinion I’m the very proud mother of Niskayuna Town Councilwoman Denise Murphy McGraw. No one sees like do how hard she works each day and how much she cares about every person and issue in our town.I just returned from an overseas trip. Since I’ve been gone, the Democrats issued a completely accurate mailing about content on a Republican site, and the result was The Gazette and others calling my daughter names? That can’t possibly be true. While I don’t have any recollection of meeting Ms. Syed when she worked for her father, I do know Dr. Syed. Two-and-a-half years ago, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Simply stated, he saved my life. Therefore, there would be no circumstances under which my daughter would attack his heritage — or anyone else’s, for that matter. It’s not who she is. Denise has won awards for her commitment to eliminating racism. I hope The Gazette and others can see to it to apologize to Denise Murphy McGraw sooner rather than later.Margaret LeonardNiskayuna More from The Daily Gazette:Puccioni’s two goals help Niskayuna boys’ soccer top Shaker, remain perfectEDITORIAL: Urgent: Today is the last day to complete the censusEDITORIAL: Thruway tax unfair to working motoristsNiskayuna girls’ cross country wins over BethlehemEDITORIAL: Find a way to get family members into nursing homeslast_img
