A list of the measures Toronto is taking in response to overdose

first_imgTORONTO – The City of Toronto announced several measures Thursday in response to a spike in suspected opioid-related deaths in recent weeks. Here is a list of what the city says it is doing:— Speeding up the opening of supervised injection sites— Asking Toronto police to consider the targeted distribution of opioid overdose antidote naloxone to some officers— Exploring emergency bulk purchasing of naloxone for quicker distribution to all necessary personnel— Committing to better data sharing about overdose information and tracking whether naloxone has been used at calls where paramedics have been dispatched— Increasing public educationlast_img
